More about the Thousand Islands

Thousand Islands is a group of more than 1,000 small islands located in east central North America, in the St. Lawrence River just east of Lake Ontario. Most are part of southeastern Ontario and the rest are part of northern New York; many are privately owned. It has been estimated that there are as many as 1,700 islands, but an accurate count is difficult because of the large number of tiny islets. The largest is Wolfe Island (127 sq km/49 sq mi) in Ontario. The islands have been popular summer resorts since the mid-1800s. All or part of 21 islands and about 90 smaller islets are included in Canada's St. Lawrence Islands National Park, established in 1914.

Seasonal cottage on Goose Bay, in Alexandria Bay area. Traditional 1000 Island cottage with open living area, very nice and comfortable. Two bedrooms, one bath, smoke free country cottage with separate sleeping cabin for the kids. Public boat launch nearby.

Large lot overlooking the water and beautiful view of the St Lawrence River great for family gatherings. Shipping channel and sunsets are quite unique. Leave the dock by boat and you can go anywhere up and down the St Lawrence river, even into Canada. Travel is endless by water. Drive a short distance and take a tour of the river, it will be unforgettable.

We supply everything you need except bedding and towels to enjoy your vacation. Great for families and fisherman. The area has Boat Rentals and Fishing Charters available for those who want it, and plenty of parking.
